Blackwork Tattoos in Prague
Sacred geometry, ornament, dark botanicals and solid black, with contrast built to last.
Blackwork uses black ink alone, and that restraint is its strength. Dense carbon pigment and bold structure do not soften the way delicate gradients can, so well-made blackwork keeps its graphic clarity for years. It suits sleeves, chests and calves, and it reads clearly from across the room.Black ink only: bold, graphic and built to stay crisp. Sleeves, chests, calves and small statements.

Structure, density and contrast
Blackwork spans a wide field: sacred geometry, heavy ornamental patterns, dark illustrative botanicals, dotwork and blackout sections. What unites them is the exclusive use of black ink and the importance of structure. Lines, fills and negative space do the work that colour and shading do elsewhere.
Because the ink is dense and the outlines are bold, blackwork ages with remarkable stability. It does not rely on fine tonal gradients that can soften over the years, which is why it is a sensible choice for pieces you want to keep reading clearly for a long time.
Good blackwork is planned around the body. Symmetry, flow and the transition between filled and open areas decide whether a sleeve looks designed or merely applied. Your artist will draw it for your anatomy, not on a flat template.

Pain depends mostly on placement and on how long you sit. Large solid areas mean more time under the needle, so we plan breaks and, for big pieces, several sessions.
Very well. Dense black ink and bold outlines stay clear for years. Sun protection keeps the black rich and prevents it from greying.
Often, yes. Dense black is one of the strongest tools for covering old ink, which is why many cover-ups are built in blackwork. See our cover-up and rework page.
Yes. Combining bold areas with delicate detail is common. Your artist will design how they meet so the piece stays balanced.
It depends on the design and on how long each sitting lasts. At the consultation you will get a realistic plan across sessions and an estimate.
Price follows size and time. What changes the price is on the tattoo prices page, and the consultation gives a specific estimate before you commit.
