Tattoo Care Guide

Remove the plastic wrap 2 hours after getting the tattoo and wash with antibacterial soap for the first 2 days. Pat dry using a clean paper towel, not cotton or a towel. Apply tattoo cream to the tattooed area 3-4 times a day for the first 3 weeks, recommended for a total of 6 weeks. Always keep your hands clean before touching your tattoo to prevent infection, as hands and fingers are areas where bacteria can easily transfer. Avoid chlorinated water and swimming for the first 6 weeks. Refrain from sunbathing and all tanning sessions for 12 weeks. You can use sunscreen after 6 weeks if necessary, as applying it prematurely can risk infection. Avoid using products with fragrances during the healing process, as they may cause your tattoo to fade. Avoid anesthesia and similar procedures as they can lead to ink displacement. Stay away from contact with animals, and if your pet sleeps in your bed, change their bedding. Avoid activities that induce sweating during the first week, as sweating can push out ink and increase the risk of infection.

Immediately After Your Tattoo

Remove the plastic wrap 2 hours after getting your tattoo. Wash the area gently with antibacterial soap and warm water for the first 2 days. Pat dry using a clean paper towel — never cotton wool or a regular towel, as fibres can stick to fresh skin.

Daily Care Routine

Apply a fragrance-free tattoo cream to the tattooed area 3–4 times a day for the first 3 weeks, continuing for a total of 6 weeks. Always wash your hands before touching the tattoo. Keep the skin moisturised but do not over-apply — a thin layer is sufficient.

What to Avoid

Stay out of chlorinated water, pools, and the sea for the first 6 weeks. Avoid sunbathing and tanning sessions for at least 12 weeks. After 6 weeks, a high-SPF sunscreen may be applied, but doing so earlier increases the risk of infection and uneven healing.

Products and Skin Care

Do not use products containing fragrance, alcohol, or harsh chemicals near the healing tattoo. These can cause premature fading or allergic reactions. Avoid anesthesia creams near the area as these can displace ink before it settles.

Lifestyle and Environment

Keep pets away from the tattooed area and change bedding regularly. Avoid intense physical exercise and activities that cause heavy sweating during the first week — perspiration can push fresh ink out of the skin and raise the risk of infection.
